So excited! Target (the store we all know and love) is sponsoring free nights at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston every Thursday from 5PM-9PM. Also noticed that families with children under 12 can also get in free on the last Saturday of every month (except December) as well.
Right now, it looks like they’ve got some very interesting exhibits, including one by Gerard Byrne. From the ICA website: “For Momentum 12, the Irish artist’s first solo museum exhibition in the U.S., Byrne presents Case Study: Loch Ness (Some possibilities and problems), a new project that explores the legend of Scotland’s Loch Ness monster through photography, film, and text.”
There’s also a wall of windows up by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, and of course, their standard collection.
Contemporary art isn’t for everyone, and I can’t vouch for the appropriateness of every piece, but if you’re into art, this might be a good deal for you!
