I didn’t get my Market Basket circular this week, so slight problem there! I’ll try for tomorrow, if I can. Thanks! Kat

Official Market Basket corporate policy is that they…

(drum roll)….

DO accept printed internet coupons in EVERY SINGLE MARKET BASKET store.

Now, I mentioned to the person I was talking to said that it used to be corporate policy that they would not accept such coupons…so it sounds like some stores are still following that old policy instead of the new one.

Finals

Hello Gentle Readers,

My apologies for not getting Market Basket up–they were closed on Easter, and we were down at the Cape celebrating anyways. And now, unfortunately, I’m in the final 3 weeks of my classes, plus getting my stuff together to transfer next fall; I’m trying my hardest to get all the grocery stores up each week on time, but please forgive me if they’re sometimes a bit late! *Only 3 weeks left, only 3 weeks left…*

MB Coming…

So it’s pretty obvious my circular-getting is not resolved…the US Post Office said it was because I get the Boston Globe delivered–on Sunday’s only. Now, I’m skeptical because NONE of us in this apartment complex got our circulars for about 2 months, and plus, I got a random arrival about 3 weeks ago now. How would that happen? It’s all rather confusing and frustrating to say the least, and I suppose now I’ll be calling the Globe to see if there’s anything they can do on their end.

But anyways, this means I pick up my Market Basket circular on Sunday–which normally I blog after church. Today, however, we had a lovely lunch out celebrating my sister and brother-in-laws’ anniversary with my mother-in-law before later heading over to my family’s house where we had fun eating my 11-yo brother’s homemade chili and creating Mii avatars.

So, I hope to get Market Basket up tomorrow after I get home from work, and thank you for your patience!

Mini-update: MB

So, another week with no circulars for me, and another week where the Market Basket circular isn’t posted online.
Thankfully my husband picked me up one, which hopefully I can have up either tonight or tomorrow. I’m SWAMPED in homework right now with tests, projects, and other pre-spring-break assignments galore. 😦

Mall Freebie Day!

Tomorrow is my mall day; with all the freebies floating around, I want to be sure to grab whats available before they’re all out completely!

Stop No. 1: *UPDATE* Um, this is for next Saturday.

Sign up for LUSH‘s email list, and you’ll be in the know when and where there’s a VIP party! If you print the email (your “passport”), RSVP , and get there early enough, you get a free bath bomb. Go to both parties listed (in my case the Peabody North Shore Mall and the Burlington Mall parties) on Sat. Feb. 28th, and receive a free Super LUSH VIP bag at your second party.

Stop No. 2:

Origins! For a Free-While-Supplies-Last sample of Dr. Weil’s Bedtime Balm with coupon.

Stop No. 3:

For a free 1 oz. sample of PINK Body with Organic Ingredients with this coupon.

Stop No. 4:

For a FREE, complimentary, one-to-one facial (coupon here) ! Eek! Who knows how good it’ll be, but considering I’ve never had anything CLOSE to a facial before, I’m figuring now’s as good a time as any!

I won’t be doing these Bath & Body Works deals, but there’s also a Free Bath & Body Works Body Gel with $10.00 purchase coupon available, as well as a Free B&BW Aromatherapy item with $13.00 purchase coupon.

Depending on how long all that takes me, I may or may not hit CVS and Walgreens this week…have to have some time to study!

Hat tip to Deal Seeking Mom for the deals after LUSH.

WFMW: Coupon Clipping

I’m fascinated by other people coupon methods.

I used to only clip what I needed, and while that worked fine for the grocery store (I will never be buying dog food), it killed me when it came to CVS/Walgreens/Rite-Aid. I found that I would have to readjust my plans on the fly when items were out of stock, or when I discovered unadvertised deals…and I wouldn’t have my coupons with me. Even at the best scenario, it’s horrid to run out to the car and clip.

So now I set aside about 1/2 hr. each week to clip ’em alllll out.  I also write on the back of each coupon the insert it came from (the 1.18.09 SS sort of notation); that way I don’t have to look up every.single.coupon in CouponMom’s database (as convenient and helpful as that is!), which saves me time in front of the computer (my main goal in life).

I then organize them by category (household/dairy/etc.) that I have labeled in my Coupon-Briefcase (file folder with a handle), and within each broader category, I have paper clips that further subdivide. For example, under “household”, I have paperclips that delineate air fresheners, paper goods, cleaners, sponges, food storage, batteries & house maintenance, laundry, and dish-soap. Certainly not without flaws (like when your paperclips snag, or fall off…), but I generally find it to be the best system for me right now. My little case fits into the front of the shopping cart or alongside a carry-basket, and is large enough for me to grab what I need without too much fumbling.

And that’s what works for me! See more WFMW here.

When Rebates Go Wrong

I’ve had three Thakoon by Target items in my Target.com shopping cart since the beginning of January. I tried them on the store, loved them, and decided to do the responsible thing of Getting Them for Less. This meant:

A.) Saving up a bit

B.) Using Cashbaq or Ebates

C.) Using my Swagbucks.com $20.00 Gift Certificate (Almost there in less than 2 months! I love my Swagbucks!)

D.) Using the Excedrin, Bayer, and Orajel rebates.

Now I’m still expecting the Orajel, but I got two pieces of mail regarding the others. First: a postcard saying my Excedrin rebate was past the postmark date. I really don’t think that’s true, but who knows–did it get stuck somewhere? Does it take an extra day or few from drop box to Post Office center? I specifically remember making it by the ‘pick up time.’ So there goes $5.99-$4.99.

Secondly, I’ve redeemed rebates for free-with-coupon items before…apparently not so with Bayer! It didn’t even mention the coupon name on the receipt, but I guess the -$30.00 line tipped them off. So there goes that $14.99 I was hoping for!

I guess this is very much “don’t count your chickens” territory…a lesson I’ll remember with further rebates!
